Roughly 38 golf courses in and around Las Vegas take public tee times: municipal tracks, upscale daily-fee courses, and resort courses open to visitors. The best is Shadow Creek. The catch is a big one: you have to be staying at an MGM Resorts property to book. Of what anyone can book directly, Wynn Golf Club on the Strip and Cascata in Boulder City are the premium rounds, TPC Las Vegas is the best public golf in Summerlin, and Las Vegas Paiute gives you the most course for the money with three Pete Dye eighteens.

Shadow Creek Golf Course

Best course in Nevada, hardest tee time to earn. Tom Fazio moved a mountain of earth into a bare desert flat and grew a North Carolina parkland out of it: pines, creeks, a waterfall behind the 17th. Worth it once. The second round you notice the course is pretending it isn't in a desert. Access is the catch: you must be staying at an MGM Resorts property to book.
Wynn Golf Club

Torn out, briefly gone, then rebuilt: Tom Fazio and Logan Fazio put it back in 2019, and it is still the only course on the Strip itself. Walk out of the hotel, onto the first tee. Green fees are the highest in the state, and the conditioning matches. You pay for the address too.
Cascata Golf Club
Boulder City · 1 Cascata Dr, Boulder City
A 418-foot waterfall runs straight through the clubhouse. That tells you plenty. Rees Jones routed the rest around a Boulder City canyon. Caesars owns it, so it plays and prices like a resort course. The mountain setting still makes it the most scenic round within 30 minutes of the Strip.

An hour and a half northeast in Mesquite. Worth every mile. Fairways thread between sandstone ridges with elevation changes no Las Vegas valley course can match. The most photographed golf in Nevada, and for once that is not marketing.

Bobby Weed's canyon layout shares its pedigree with private TPC Summerlin next door, but it takes public tee times daily. Four natural desert washes cross the routing. The best public round in Summerlin, and cheap for the pedigree.

Three full Pete Dye courses on tribal land 25 minutes northwest of the Strip: Snow Mountain, Sun Mountain, and the brutal Wolf. Wolf for the story, Snow Mountain for the round. The largest golf complex in Nevada, and the best value among the premium public tracks.
Bali Hai Golf Club

Palms, black volcanic rock, 100,000 tropical plants, and the Mandalay Bay tower over your shoulder. South-Strip golf in a South Pacific costume. The most convenient serious round in the city, if you can forgive the theme.

Canyon, plateau, arroyo: three distinct stretches inside one round. Rees Jones built it into the Black Mountain foothills above Henderson, and it was Butch Harmon's teaching home for years. Underrated, mostly because it is inconvenient.

Around 38 courses take public tee times, counting daily-fee municipal tracks, upscale public courses and resort courses. What is the cheapest public golf course in Las Vegas?
Municipal golf, every time. Las Vegas Golf Club (the city's oldest, opened 1938), Desert Rose, Wildhorse in Henderson, and Boulder City Golf Course all run well under $100 in most seasons. Summer twilight rates are the cheapest golf of the year anywhere in the valley.
Can anyone play the TPC courses in Las Vegas?
TPC Las Vegas is public and takes daily tee times from anyone. TPC Summerlin, next door, is private: members and guests only. It hosted the PGA TOUR's Shriners Children's Open through 2024, which is why the two get confused.
When is the best time to play public golf in Las Vegas?
October–November and March–May give the best mix of weather and conditions. They are also the busiest and priciest. Summer is brutally hot and very cheap; locals play at dawn or on twilight rates. Do I need a handicap or membership to play these courses?
No. Every course in this guide takes public tee times without a membership or a handicap index. Shadow Creek is the one exception, and that is a hotel rule rather than a golf one: booking requires an MGM Resorts stay.
