The Club at Sunrise Review
East Las Vegas valley floor with a Sunrise Mountain backdrop — our local verdict, the facts, and where it ranks.
About The Club at Sunrise
The course now known as The Club at Sunrise has one of the longer histories in Las Vegas golf. Designed by Dick Wilson and Joe Lee and opened in 1964 as Winterwood Golf Club, it later became Desert Rose Golf Course and operated for decades as a Clark County municipal facility. Severe flooding in 2012 forced a prolonged closure and triggered a full renovation by architect Randy Heckenkemper as part of the broader Las Vegas Wash project. The redesigned course reopened in summer 2016 as The Club at Sunrise — still owned by Clark County Parks & Recreation and managed by KemperSports. The par-72 layout measures 6,503 yards and includes a clubhouse with the Winterwood Grille and an all-grass practice facility upgraded in 2026.

Reviews of The Club at Sunrise
The Club at Sunrise is one of the most affordable full-length, par-72 courses in the Las Vegas Valley and one of the few true Clark County municipals remaining. The Heckenkemper renovation gave it a modern, playable character while preserving its traditional bones, and continued county investment shows in the 2016 clubhouse and 2026 practice upgrades. The east-valley location adds drive time from the resort corridor but keeps green fees accessible.
Is The Club at Sunrise Worth Playing?
Best suited to local residents and budget-conscious visitors who want a full 18-hole, par-72 round without resort pricing. Early-morning tee times often include a food-and-beverage voucher. Book online at the course website or through GolfNow for the best availability.
